Il Mulino di Moscati per quasi due secoli ha lavorato per la macina del grano, che veniva distribuito tra gli abitanti dei poderi limitrofi. Edificato alla fine del XVIII secolo, è stato acquistato nel 1810 da Filippo Moscati dei Marchesi di Poppano, quadrisavolo della attuale proprietaria, insieme ad altri casali e a oltre 100 ettari di terreno. Adiacente al mulino, ancora oggi, si leggono i resti di una antica ferriera, di un cotonificio e di tutte le case degli operai che un tempo abitavano la zona.
Con l’avvento delle nuove macchine agricole e industriali, l’attività del mulino è stata dimessa, e la struttura è stata adibita ad abitazione per i coloni che coltivavano ancora le terre limitrofe. Quando anche l’ultimo contadino, Cenzino, ha raggiunto l’età pensionabile, si è pensato di far rinascere a nuova vita il Mulino e riportarlo agli antichi splendori di quando offriva un servizio utile per tutta la collettività.
Il restauro, durato 3 anni ha messo in evidenza le vecchie strutture. Sono state valorizzate le volte e gli archi in pietra. La vecchia macina è stata recuperata. Ogni intervento architettonico è stato compiuto nel rispetto dei materiali e della vocazione territoriale. Pietra e legno per consolidare le vecchie strutture. Vetro e acciaio per creare degli innesti moderni.

For two centuries, the Moscati Watermill has used water power to break up and crush wheat grain to make flour which was then distributed to the families living in the neighbourhoods. Built at the end of the eighteenth century, on 1810 the watermill was purchased by Filippo Moscati of the Marquis of Poppano, an ancestor of its current landlady. The purchase included other buildings and more than 100 hectares of land.
Today, confining with the watermill, it is still possible to locate the traces of an ancient iron mill, of a cotton mill and of the lodgings of the factories workers. With the introduction of new machineries both in farming and industry, the watermill activity was discontinued and the building was converted to lodgings for the farmers. When Cenzino, who was the last farmer born in the watermill, retired, it was decided to bring the structure back to its earlier life when it rendered a service to a more extended society.
Restorations have lapsed three years and have brought the ancient structure back to surface. The vaults and arches have been re-evidenced. The old millstone was recovered. Every architectonical intervention has been made respecting the local materials and environment. Stone and wood have been used to consolidate the old rooms. Glass and steel to introduce a certain modernity.
